Biliary Atresia

This fact sheet provides information about the symptoms, causes, diagnosis, and treatment of biliary atresia, a rare but serious illness affecting about 1 in 10,000 infants. Biliary Atresia also includes a discussion of research efforts underway at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and a list of organizations with more information about the disease.

This easy-to-read guide explains the symptoms, causes, and complications of diarrhea and offers treatment suggestions for both adults and children. It also teaches readers how to distinguish between mild cases of diarrhea and those that warrant professional attention.

Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)
(Esteatohepatitis no alcohólica)

This six-page fact sheet provides information about NASH, a liver disease that occurs when fat deposits in the liver cause inflammation. It includes descriptions of underlying conditions or risk factors, symptoms, causes, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing research.
